The Office of the University Registrar provides free notary services to UC Davis students and alumni for official documents produced or distributed by the Office of the University Registrar. Notarized documents will be mailed to you or anyone you direct. If you are designating a person to pick-up the notarized document(s) on your behalf, please provide a signed release authorizing the issuance of the document to the designated person along with a copy of your photo ID. The designee will also need to provide a valid photo ID for identification purposes.

Documents available for notarization include:

  • Official Transcripts: An official transcript will require an original document be generated for notarization. Photocopies or reproductions of previously requested transcripts are not accepted. For information on how to order a transcript.
  • Education Verifications: An original official document is required to be generated for notarization. Photocopies or reproductions of previously requested education verifications are not accepted.   • Completion of Undergraduate Degree Requirements Verification: Requires an original official document be generated for notarization – photocopies or reproductions of previously requested documents are not accepted.   • Diplomas: Notary requests for diplomas require a quality copy of your diploma be submitted for notarization. The copy is then authenticated and notarized by the Office of the University Registrar. Notarization of an original diploma is not permissible, however a duplicate diploma may be requested should you wish to a have a reissued diploma notarized. Requesting a Notarized Document

Submit a completed Request for Notarization form to the Office of the University Registrar with your request for an official original document, should one be required; see above list. The notarization process requires five to ten business days for processing in addition to the initial processing time necessary for the production of the document. Refer to the tables below regarding document availability, notary processing timelines, and processing options and fees.

Note: Notary requests involving transcripts and/or reprinted diplomas may not be issued if a student accounting hold has been placed on your academic record.
